July 2016 – Cottage Fundraiser for Brett Schools!
On July 29th, family and friends of Brett Bentley Crawford gathered at Kishkadena Island, Georgian Bay, where Brett grew up cottaging and catching frogs.
In memory of Brett, they raised almost $40,000 for the construction of Brett’s 5th school, including two classrooms, two washrooms, and an electrical system. The money they raised will also help to support the 2100 children at all five of Brett’s schools who receive schools supplies so they can attend classes in 2016.
We are so grateful to Richard and Lori Crawford for hosting a wonderful celebration, and to our amazing community of family and friends in Georgian Bay for coming out!
Dylan Crawford did an exceptional job speaking about her experience visiting her aunt’s memorial schools earlier this year, in March. Dylan helped to lay the first blocks of the school with Brett’s sisters Kate & Devon, along with her grandparents Richard & Lori Crawford.
Thanks to the event at Kish this summer, Brett’s 5th school is now fully funded and fully built!
