June 2014 – Soccer Dreams Campaign – Making Dreams Come True!

SchoolBOX is excited to announce its Soccer Dreams campaign for 2014!  Last year, SchoolBOX was able to host 5 Soccer Dreams Tournaments in 5 communities around Nicaragua.  200 students (100 girls and 100 boys) were empowered to get a basic education through sport.

In order to reach more communities in Nicaragua with this important program, we are launching a campaign in partnership with Jobs in Education to provide matching funding to all Canadian soccer clubs, teams, enthusiasts and fans who raise funds for a team.  Our hope is to DOUBLE our Soccer Dreams program this year and empower 400 students from 10 communities to get a basic education.  With your help, we can ‘Make Education Possible’ for even more kids through Soccer Dreams.

We are so thankful to Rumeet Billan, founder of Jobs in Education for recognizing the importance of our Soccer Dreams program, and how it inspires kids to go to school.

How to help!
Encourage your soccer club, players, parents and coaches to help you raise $250 and put one Nicaraguan school team in a Soccer Dreams Tournament. This includes uniforms (for the team of 5 boys and 5 girls, including shorts, a jersey, and new socks), transportation to and from the tournament, referees, snacks, trophies, medals and soccer balls with pumps for each team. All teams that raise money during this campaign will have their team picture put on the SchoolBOX Soccer Dreams Wall of Fame on our website. They will also receive a team photo of the team they sponsored.

The opportunity to play soccer with a real ball and an official uniform has proven to be a powerful incentive for children attend school, and even re-enroll. SchoolBOX works with their partner schools to run Soccer Dreams tournaments. Partner schools all receive uniforms, and are able to travel to neighbouring schools to partake in a day long tournament. The combination of soccer, travel, and school spirit is a winning combination for the children of Nicaragua.

Let’s work together to inspire children though sport to get an education!  For more information on the Soccer Dreams campaign, please click here.

Every donation that is raised through the Soccer Dreams campaign will be matched dollar for dollar.*(up to a campaign total of $5000)
