May 2014 – Golf 4 Kids Tournament a Success!
May 4th may have been rainy but it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits at Golf 4 Kids. SchoolBOX had so many hearty supporters and golfers that came out despite the bad weather for a round of golf followed by a delicious dinner at the Canadian Golf & Country Club. This amazing event brought SchoolBOX supporters new and old together to raise over $16,000 to ‘Make Education Possible’.
Congratulations go to the winning team of Matt Leblanc, Brad Leblanc, Joe Leblanc and Alex Atkinson who were tied at +1 with two other teams after 18 holes. These brave men suggested one more hole to break the tie but their opponents backed away from the challenge and gave them the win so they could all go warm up inside. The best dressed award goes to the Equator Coffee team for playing in their tartan kilts. All of the golfers deserve honourable mentions for coming out and playing on the cold and rainy day.
SchoolBOX wants to send a huge thank you to Mike and Millie Maloney for organizing this event and Equator Coffee Roasters for being the presenting sponsor. Thanks also go to Barbara Jordan for her amazing graphic design work and Shaun DeSalvo for his photography work. And last but not least thank you to all the dedicated volunteers that helped run the event and all of the wonderful sponsors who made this event a tremendous success.
Teams lined up in their golf carts for the shot-gun start.
Participants enjoyed a banquet style dinner and a raffle after golfing in the rain.
