January 2015 – Polar Dash Empowers 500 Kids

70 people braved the -25C weather and ran through the quiet streets of Westboro on Saturday, January 17th. It was an early and cold start for all the runners, but everyone was happy to raise funds and awareness for SchoolBOX.

Led by Joe Rios, the Polar Dash for SchoolBOX brought together over over 150 supporters and runners to raise in excess of $2500 for SchoolBOX. We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. Through your generosity, 500 children in Nicaragua will receive educational packages through SchoolBOX.

Thanks to our amazing sponsors – Equator Coffee Roasters Westboro, lululemon Athletica, Bushtukah, Mountain Equipment Co-op, Axis RMT, The Fireplace Center, La Siembra & Camino Hot Chocolate and Goodlife Fitness! Without the support of our sponsors and volunteers, none of this would be possible.

All the best to Joe as he dashes through an ultra-marathon in Antarctica in February. Thanks for empowering hundreds of children to get a basic education and for inspiring us all! See you next year!
