We are searching for the next Chief Operations & Development Officer of SchoolBOX!

SchoolBOX is a registered Canadian charity and Nicaraguan NGO that works to Make Education Possible for children in more than 100 communities across Nicaragua, Central America. SchoolBOX is a community of thousands of individuals, from different faiths and socioeconomic backgrounds, united in love for the children we serve and the belief that education can defeat poverty. For the past decade, our grassroots team has been building schools; equipping nearly 20,000+ students with school supplies annually, investing in teachers by providing them with books, training and building a culture of reading for kids. This is all done in collaboration with local staff, volunteers, and ministry of education, municipal governments, community leaders and teachers in Nicaragua. The only way we have been able to grow is through the generous support of our amazing volunteers, board members, staff and partners in Canada and around the world.

We are looking for a mission-focused, strategic and experienced Chief Operating & Development Officer (CODO) to oversee our SchoolBOX operations and help build systems for sustainable growth. You will be our second-in-command in Canada responsible for learning our history and developing relationships with our grassroots global network, evaluating current systems and procedures, to build on for future sustainable growth.

The CODO is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the Executive Director. We expect you to be of exemplary character, an experienced and efficient leader with a commitment to global education. We are looking for someone with shared values, Spanish fluency, excellent English story-telling capacity and a humble heart to champion and empower our Nicaraguan team on the ground.
