April 2018 – Super spring events for SchoolBOX

Join us in Carleton Place at the Smith & Barrel Pub on April 11th for a sign-making workshop in support of SchoolBOX. You will learn how to make a beautiful rustic sign for your home, and to help us ‘make education possible’ in Nicaragua with SchoolBOX! The workshop starts at 7pm. You can reserve a table for dinner before the event, or order food and drinks as you work. Cost: $60 and includes a $20 charitable tax receipt from SchoolBOX. Next we have ‘From the Ground Up’ trivia night on Saturday, April 28th at 8pm at The Glen, 6081 Hazeldean Rd, Stittsville. All proceeds will support of the construction of a new classroom in Nicaragua as part of the ‘From the Ground Up’ campaign led by SchoolBOX Board Member Natalie Gunn. Richmond is the place to be on Sunday April 29th as we gather for the Matt’s Dream Trivia Night! Matt Smart and a group of friends and family have been working hard over the past two years, fundraising to build their very own classroom in Nicaragua at Las Parcelas School. You’re invited to put together a trivia team of 4-6 people and help Matt to raise funds! Trivia costs $15/person. There is only room for 60 people and it is first come first serve! Save the date for this Car Boot Sale at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Kanata on May 12th from 9am to noon. All proceeds raised during this rummage sale will support the construction of the Father Rick classroom at Kilaca School this August 2018. A team of volunteers from St. Paul’s is traveling to Nicaragua to build this school, and they have almost reached their fundraising goal to build the new classroom in memory of their beloved Father Rick.
