January 2017 – Gracias a Dios Equator Classroom Complete
SchoolBOX is starting 2017 strong with the completion of the Equator Classroom at Gracias a Dios School in San Juan de Rio Coco. This school is located in a remote mountainous community, where most families work harvesting, processing, or transporting coffee. Without a reliable road into the community and facing delays due to heavy rains in the region, our team went the extra mile to complete this classroom that will now provide access to education to children for generations to come.
We are grateful to the Equator volunteers that traveled to Nicaragua in November to help us work on this build. And of course, this classroom would not exist without Equator Coffee Roasters itself, who funded the classroom. Equator’s heart for the children of Nicaragua is a gift, which has borne amazing fruit in the shape of this new classroom. Just look at those happy faces!
