May 2018 – Tracy’s Hope #2 classroom is complete!
Tracy’s Hope Classroom at Tezoatega School is complete! This is the second Tracy’s Hope classroom and the 99th classroom for SchoolBOX.
It was an exciting day for teachers, students and parents, as well as our team in Nicaragua who gathered to celebrate this symbol of hope for the rural community of Tezoatega.
We are immensely grateful to Dina Bell-Laroche, SchoolBOX Board Member extraordinaire and a remarkable volunteer, for leading the charge to fundraise for this classroom. It is named after Dina’s sister Tracy, who passed away at age 29, but whose legacy lives-on in the many children that are able to receive an education at schools built in Tracy’s name.
Thank you to the group of volunteers who came down from Kanata, Ottawa, and Kinburn who spent their March Break building this new classroom. Your hard work paid off!
