May 2018 – Volunteer info session for Equator trip to Nicaragua
We are welcoming a volunteer team from Equator Coffee Roasters to build Equator’s 4th classroom in Nicaragua from November 15-24th, 2018.
If you’ve ever wanted to escape the November chills and help to build a school in Nicaragua’s BEAUTIFUL coffee region, this is the trip for you!
Equator has been a supporter of SchoolBOX since 2010, when they started donating 10 cents of every pound of coffee sold to our programs in Nicaragua. As a result of their support, we have built three Equator classrooms already in Nicaragua, at San Antonio School, Gracias a Dios School, and El Porvenir School.
The fourth Equator classroom will be built at Las Nubes School in Matagalpa, in the heart of the coffee region. The current facilities at Las Nubes consist of one wooden classroom where 86 resilient children currently study in kindergarten to grade six. The new Equator classroom will dramatically improve learning conditions, and bring hope to this impoverished community.
