# of classrooms built: 2
# of washrooms: 3
The Need: The Sagrado Corazon de Jesus School was dangerously overcrowded. Many of the students who wanted to attend the school had to find other ways to educated, and for some that meant that they had to cross a dangerous river to get to school. Many of the students were also forced to study outside under a tree because of the lack of indoor school facilities. The washroom facilities were in disrepair. Many students would go outside, or use the facilities of the neighbouring houses. Teachers were in the same boat. This was definitely not a comfortable situation for the children at Sagrado Corazon de Jesus School.
The Finished Product: SchoolBOX was able to build a total of 2 new classrooms, and 3 flush toilet washrooms. The children were especially excited to use the flush toilets. The teachers were also thrilled that they would be able to use the washroom facilities within their own school. One classroom was build as an extension to the current school, and the other was build as a free standing structure

The Aftermath: SchoolBOX continues to deliver educational packages to Sagrado Corazon de Jesus School. One of the classrooms was named after Lauralee Kennedy, who has been a strong SchoolBOX supporter since 2007. Lauralee made the trip down to Nicaragua in 2012 and was able to see the school in person.
