Virtual Grief Café

Renowned author C.S. Lewis shared that he never thought that grief would feel so much like fear. As we are all finding our way through COVID-19, you might find that you are oscillating between fear (heightened levels of anxiety) and hope (feel good emotions and a positive outlook on the future). Both are important.

Dina Bell-Laroche is a certified Integral Master Coach and Grief Companion who is turning her own loss story into a force for good during these difficult times. In collaboration with her favourite charity SchoolBOX, Dina is hosting Grief Cafés to support those that might be struggling with their losses or simply want to learn healthier ways to cope. Dina launched her first Grief Café in January this past year at a national gathering of coaches, athletes, and sport leaders, challenging all of us to embrace a more holistic, person-centered way of reconciling losses. Since then, she has held dozens of Grief Café in various locations, including now virtually, with a view of bringing more grief and loss literacy to our communities. What: Dina will create a safe and welcoming virtual space to better understanding our grief by acknowledging our own unique needs as we navigate the troubled waters of loss. Grief is a natural response to a severed attachment. Learning about the many ways that we work through our losses often makes us feel less isolated and provides a safe space to share among others who can appreciate what we might be going through.  In the end, participants will walk away feeling greater appreciation for the journey they are on as they look to reconcile their grief.

This is the third Grief Cafe that Dina will be running in support of SchoolBOX:
